The flavonoid diosmin, present in certain plants and citrus fruits, can be obtained from the flavonoid hesperidin, which occurs naturally in the albedo of unripe sweet oranges. Diosmin-based phlebotonics, such as DiosVein®, are composed of 96% diosmin and 4% other flavonoids expressed as hesperidin.
