take SAMe because I have foie gras. Just a mild form of fatty liver disease. I take it with silibinin/sylibin. 400 mg in the morning on an empty stomach and 400 mg in the evening before going to bed. After two months, SAMe and silibinin were able to lower my transaminases. Gamma-GT as well as GPT and GOT were then back in the normal range. I also gave SAMe to my dog. He had been on corticosteroids for some time for a joint problem. GPT, GOT, gamma-GT and alkaline phosphatase were increased. After three weeks of 2 x 400 mg of SAMe, liver values had returned to normal.

Doctor’s Best manufactures SAM-e tablets that deliver the expected efficacy. Not all SAM-e are the same! Based on previous experience, I now avoid those containing ”methionine” only, as SAM-e is effective for anxiety with ”L-methionine”. My daughter went from 3-4 panic attacks a day to 3-4 a day. week on Celexa (an SSRI) to ZERO panic attacks with SAM-e, and her baseline anxiety also decreased, making her more able to enjoy life. Doctor’s Best SAM-e took care of the hives I had because it’s an antihistamine. Good product!

trust Dr’s Best as a brand and am glad Ecosupplements stock them. I take SAMe to help me maintain a good mood and for my joints. I take other supplements, especially collagen powder and NOW UCII Undenatured Callgen type 2, which also help my joints. What I notice most about SAMe is that it relieves what can be a bad mood, especially in difficult and stressful times, and I feel good and able to handle difficult situations better. I take 400mg a day to get the result I want. It’s an ongoing expense – but worth it to me.

I didn’t realize when I ordered this that the pills are in blister packs. We take multiple supplements & every 2 weeks we put them all into one plastic daily dispenser for each of us. This method is also great for travelling. Having these in blister packs is a pain in the butt & a waste for us. The product itself is great.
