I take milk thistle for my liver, as a tonic. This is my first time buying the Swanson brand and I can’t say for sure the outcome. However, they have been around for many years and quite reputable. The price is reasonable, the packaging is nice too. Milk thistle is a must-have substance unless you are following a VERY healthy diet that does not consume alcohol and avoid fast foods.

had heard for years that milk thistle was most likely helpful for the liver. When my mother died of liver complications…and later in life a close friend’s liver failed…I wanted to be proactive and started using milk thistle. For years I have used Jarrow Milk Thistle but wanted to see if I could get the same or better quality but at a much lower price. I did a lot of research on this topic and found Swanson Milk Thistle. Seemed to be more potent per milligram than Jarrow, but at a much better price, and I like that it’s standardized. I’m not a fan of Swanson’s PACKAGING as it looks cheap BUT we don’t eat the bottle. 🙂 Another negative is that I would prefer a veggie capsule but almost everything Swanson makes, they use gelatin…hence my 4 stars vs what would have been 5. That said, for the overall quality by Price-wise, Swanson is a winner here!

The quality of these capsules is excellent, they are the perfect size and easy to swallow. Milk Thistle helps detoxify your liver, it is an excellent supplement that has no aftertaste and is easily absorbed. I love the benefits of this product and the packaging is great.
