HomocysteX Plus by Seeking Health supplies bioactive forms of four essential B-vitamins together with betaine (also known as trimethylglycine or TMG) to synergistically support methylation and normal homocysteine metabolism. Methylation is vital for formation of essential cell components such as proteins, nucleic acids found in DNA and RNA, and phospholipids that form nerve cell membranes. By transferring methyl groups (three hydrogen atoms bonded to a carbon atom, known as CH3) from one molecule to another, methylation turns on genes, activates enzymes, drives detoxification reactions, influences hormone secretion, and helps maintain normal metabolism of homocysteine, a potentially harmful amino acid metabolite. Unfortunately, poor nutrition, oxidative stress, infections, metabolic defects, and various other factors can impair methylation processes throughout the body.*
To nutritionally support optimal methylation capacity, this product supplies folate, vitamin B12, B6, B2, and betaine in amounts and forms that are efficiently utilized and well-tolerated by the body. Taking just L-5-methylfolate is often times not sufficient for those with MTHFR mutations. Dr. Lynch provides these other ingredients, such as betaine (TMG), to help support healthy homocysteine levels and support the methylation cycle.*
Betaine is a powerful and important methyl donor for the body, especially for those who have MTHFR mutations. Vitamin B12 is crucial to the formation of healthy red blood cells, energy production, nervous system support, cognitive function, and homocysteine regulation. Vitamin B6 as P-5-P is important as a coenzyme for the normal metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates and lipids. It is also involved in healthy cognitive development, immune health and homocysteine conversion. Riboflavin is important for body growth and red blood cell production and assists in the process of releasing energy from carbohydrates.*

Recommended use:
Take 1 capsule daily with or without food, or as directed by your healthcare professional. Do not take within 5 hours of bedtime as it may interfere with sleep.

My doctor recommended it for my homozygous MTHFR. At first I thought it would be too low a dose for MTHFR, but after some research I think it’s fair. Too much folate (and folic acid) can lead to anxiety and depression.

Probably one of the best b vitamins on the site. I stack it with allithiamin b1 and niacinamide b3. Turn it into a complex. Most premixes use the wrong shapes or ratios in my opinion.

love I love I love! I know this is for people with homocysteine issues, but I use it as part of my diet to fight anemia. And it works very well ! All you have to do is add a high potency iron tablet (for me iron fumarate works best) and you will see a difference in no time. It contains the best forms of B6 B12 and folate, exactly what the body needs to make healthy red blood cells.

This product is simply wonderful. It contains everything that is perfect for not only homocysteine problems but also anemia. It contains reasonable doses of ingredients, all packed together and most importantly, in active forms. It contains both forms of methylocobalamin and adenosynocobalamin (B12) which are extremely important for the proper development of blood cells. The best value complex that contains active forms of B vitamins and TMG to reduce homocysteine. Homocysteine levels above 9 require the active form of the B vitamins, and above 13 with the addition of TMG. Elevated homocysteine damages the vascular endothelium and may increase the risk of atherosclerosis. Here are the correct doses for self-administration.

I like this product, it has the right ingredients and in their active form to reduce homocysteine. However, I wish they didn’t have the ingredients in the megadoses.
