Histamine Block by Seeking Health contains a patented enzyme formula providing 10,000 HDU of diamine oxidase (DAO) – the main enzyme responsible for the degradation of ingested histamine – per capsule. Histamine is known as a biogenic amine, an natural nitrogen compound, involved in certain immune responses and found in mast cells. It may be involved in regulating healthy function in the GI tract as well as the nervous system. Histamine also plays an important role in triggering the body’s normal inflammatory response.
An excess of histamine can be problematic, however, leading to histamine sensitivity/intolerance, digestive concerns, allergies, and more. Individual sensitivity to histamine varies, and some individuals may be more reactive to histamines and other biogenic amines in foods. Diamine oxidase (DAO) has been clinically tested and found to break down food-derived histamine in the digestive tract. Note that DAO is not absorbed and does not have systemic activity. Histamine Block does not manage or address antibody-related or IgE-related food allergies.*
Ingredients

Ingredients:
Vitamin C (as ascorbyl palmitate), Da02 poricne kidney extract (Diamine Oxidase Activity 10.000 HDU)
Other ingredients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, vegetarian capsule (hypromellose, water, and gellan gum), and ascorbyl palmitate.
Recommended use:
Take 1 capsule no more than 15 minutes before the consumption of histamine-rich foods, or take as directed by your healthcare professional.
Warnings:
Children and pregnant or lactating women should consult their healthcare practitioner prior to use. This product contains an ingredient derived from porcine (pig). Avoid if allergic to pork or any other ingredient. Histamine Block is NOT EFFECTIVE for symptoms of immune-related food allergies, such as peanuts, shellfish, etc., or for gluten intolerance due to sensitivity or celiac disease. DAO is not absorbed and does not have systemic activity. Histamine Block does not manage or address antibody-related or IgE-related food allergies.

bought this for my husband who has histamine issues in food. I just took 2 sets of 4.2mg with each meal in hopes of blocking and digesting histamines from my system. with age, the digestive system needs supplements. the quality seems good but need to monitor more for the result. the ingredient also contains a cofactor. I only need to take 1 cap.

These are great for histamine issues if your histamine issues come from food. Didn’t help my overall histamine levels as I was reading it can only work in the gut but I can say it works if I eat a food that is very high in histamine. I get less reaction. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive and I don’t know if it’s really worth it for me.

I’ve seen a few people talk about it in my MCAS group. Since most of my issues are histamine related, I thought I might give it a try so I can eat produce and meat (can’t do acid washes and some sprays) and things like vinegars. I had incredible success!

Seeking Health Histamine Block has helped my life get back to normal. I can now go to a restaurant and order without worrying about having bowel issues, gas pains, bloating, rashes, and congestion from histamine intolerance. recently discovered that I carry a defective gene (homozygous in the MTHFR cycle of the C677T gene) causing my body to have great difficulty processing any form of histamine. It’s one of the only pills on the market with a high level of DAO (the enzyme my body doesn’t make that is needed to break down histamine) and since I added it to my diet ( 20 minutes before eating), I had great relief and results. The bloating has gone down, I have no phantom fullness, itching, rashes, congestion, with constant use even cleared by brain fog. I suggest anyone who suspects HIT to go get their genes tested and find out what they need because it has changed my life. I’m only 25 and I feel like I’m starting to live again. Everything from an enzyme.

Taking this product 10 minutes before eating allows my son, who is amine intolerant, to eat amine rich foods again. The choice of food is really difficult for someone intolerant to amines. It at least makes the food aspect of life much easier. Taking it 10 minutes before you eat, rather than while you eat, somehow makes the digestive enzymes more effective. (He also takes an Enzymedica Digest Gold capsule with the histamine block.)
