What is Doctor’s Best Tocotrienols?
Doctor’s Best Tocotrienols tocotrienol-tocopherol, a full spectrum vitamin E complex. Made from sustainably produced red palm oil, this preparation is uniquely self-emulsifying for efficient absorption. It elevates tocotrienols in the blood, brain, heart, liver, and skin while conserving alpha-tocopherol levels. This unique preparation also improves blood vessel wall function and helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels within the normal range.
How does it work?
Doctor’s Best Tocotrienols tocotrienol-tocopherol is a full spectrum vitamin E nutrient complex. These are fat-soluble nutrients that are major antioxidants and may have other positive actions in the body. “Vitamin E” is actually a collection of 8 naturally occurring molecules or “vitamers”: the alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta tocopherols and the alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta tocotrienols. The tocotrienols are structurally similar to the tocopherols but have more potent antioxidant power. This formulation emphasizes the superior antioxidant power of the tocotrienols, in balance with the well-recognized virtues of the tocopherol vitamers.
Why take Doctor’s Best Tocotrienols?
Traditionally, vitamin E research was focused primarily on alpha-tocopherol, but now it is clear that the tocotrienols have extremely potent vitamin E activity. Tocotrienol studies currently account for only 1% of vitamin E research, yet to date their clinical performance has been overwhelmingly positive. Some of the puzzling findings from studies that used alpha-tocopherol alone could be better understood if all (or most) of the eight E vitamers have functional roles in the body, rather than just this one form. In contrast to the tocopherols, which are very common in plants (present in an estimated 320,000 species), tocotrienols have been reported in only 176 plant species. They did not gain much attention until the early 1980s, when researchers found they could support healthy blood lipid levels. Now the tocotrienols are in the spotlight, having been shown to promote health in ways the tocopherols do not. Emerging areas of research for tocotrienols include healthy aging, skin health, cognitive function, weight management, and bone health.
