Doctors Best Natural Vitamin K2 MK7 with MenaQ7 supports bone health and soft tissue elasticity and supports calcium metabolism for maintenance of healthy bone. It uses pure MenaQ7, the superior form of vitamin K for optimum bioavailability. MenaQ7 is purified from fermented chickpeas which are naturally rich in vitamin K2. K2 belongs to a group of vitamin K compounds called menaquinones, which show greater bioactivity when compared to K1, the ordinary supplemental form. K2 is absorbed more completely, remains in the body longer and delivers more benefits for bones, blood vessels and other soft tissues.
How does it work?
Vitamin K, a fat-soluble vitamin, is primarily known for its role in regulating blood coagulation. Vitamin K exists in two major forms: phylloquinone and the menaquinones. Phylloquinone, designated as vitamin K1, is the major dietary form in food. Menaquinones are designated as vitamin K2 and are named MK-7, MK-8 and MK9, according to the length of structurally related molecular side chains attached to the parent molecule. Fermented foods contain substantial amounts of K2 and MK-7 is the primary menaquinone found in fermented foods. MK-7 contributes to optimum vitamin K storage in the body, and functions more effectively as a co-factor for the activation of osteocalcin which is critical for bone strength. A large-scale study on vitamin K intakes among 5,000 Dutch persons suggests that vitamin K2 may help maintain healthy blood vessels. Compared to those in the low vitamin K2/menaquinone group, subjects at the highest consumption level of vitamin K2 had substantially superior heart health. Similar associations were not seen for vitamin K1.

It is a very good size and the soft gels are small enough to be ingested easily. It also contains the most effective form of vitamin K-2 (i.e. menaquinone-7), which is a big plus. If you have issues with vascular health, cataracts, joint health, systemic inflammation, K2 will be a valuable vitamin to consider adding to your health protocol. This will help decalcify and redirect Ca from the tissues and joints to the bone matrix where it should be.

I take the K vitamin along with vitamin D3 before bed (better absorption) three times a week as my vitamin D level is good now. I’ll know in 20 years if it worked and put the D/K where it is needed in bone.

If you are sensitive to the higher doses of Vitamin K out there, this 45mcg dosage level is perfect. There is enough K in this to ensure proper calcium absorption without the side effects.

It is difficult to find vitamin K2 that is in an appropriate strength for adults. If I understand correctly, adults should take at least 100 mcg of K2MK7 with a dose of a soft gel daily. This ingredient has fulfilled the minimum level required by our body. The soft gel is very small in size, odorless and tasteless, so it is easy to swallow.

Vitamin K2-mk7 has a much better half-life than vitamin k2-mk4. It is therefore the preferred version of vitamin k2 for people. The pill comes in capsule form which is tiny and easy to swallow. Also, I didn’t want to take a high or low dose of vitamin K2. So, at 45 mcg per capsule, it’s the ideal dose for me. Since I started taking vitamin K2, I no longer start huffing during or after exercise. My exercise endurance has multiplied. I love it.
