In the 20th century, the fervent promoter and enthusiast of Borututu became the Portuguese Julio de Sousa Lopes. He spent almost his entire life in Africa, observing nature and getting to know the life of local tribes. He became intrigued by an infusion made from the root of the Borututu tree, drunk among others before ritual ceremonies to avoid the poisonous effects of hallucinogenic substances.

He devoted his entire passion to studying the virtues of the Borututu tree and its wondrous root, offered to people by African nature. He therefore began sourcing Borututu root, using only the most lush areas where this species grows, ensuring first-rate quality of a raw material rich in active ingredients. It is worth emphasizing that only the appropriate part of the roots is harvested from selected plants, thereby allowing the plants to continue growing.

Great importance is also placed on drying the roots under natural conditions, as well as on their storage. The dried product is released for sale only after undergoing appropriate testing, so that its use is safe and brings as much benefit as possible.
