Nattokinase is an enzyme isolated from Natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soy food. Natto has been consumed for thousands of years for its numerous health promoting properties. More recently, both clinical and non-clinical studies have demonstrated that Nattokinase can help to promote heart and circulatory health by supporting normal blood clotting functions. NOW Nattokinase is derived from non-GMO soy and has 2,000 FUs (Fibrinolytic Units) per 100 mg serving.

Nattokinase (2,000 FU) (enzyme from Natto Extract) (Non-GMO soy derived)
Other ingredients:
Cellulose Powder, Cellulose (capsule), Stearic Acid (vegetable source) and Silica. Contains soy.
Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.
Recommended use:
Take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily on an empty stomach.
Warnings:
For adults only. Do not use Nattokinase if taking “blood thinning” medications (anticoagulants) (such as aspirin, warfarin, heparin) or if you have any ongoing bleeding/coagulation problems (including but not limited to: active ulcer, recent surgery/trauma, hemophilia). Consult physician if pregnant/nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition (including uncontrolled high blood pressure [equal to or higher than 200 mmHg/110mmHg]). Keep out of reach of children.

Nattokinase is a good product. It does what it’s supposed to do (move blood smoothly) and I have had no adverse reactions. It also doesn’t have the side effects of aspirin. I had been looking for an alternative to aspirin for a long time, and my nutritionist recommended it to me.

NOW Foods (100mg, 120 veggie capsules) is very reasonably priced, but here’s the thing – NOW is such a popular brand that it’s sold by many different vendors. I got it in hopes of lowering my cholesterol. The capsules are medium in size, I like that they are easy to swallow. The quality is superb, I love this brand. They use high quality ingredients. It is a natural way for optimal vascular health. I like to use natural supplements rather than taking medication.

have a history of very painful periods. Lately I’ve had it every other week and popped like crazy every time. I was out of breath. I was examined and the only things the doctor found were a cyst on my ovary (apparently very common and usually goes away on their own) and what she called “patchy uterine lining”. It could mean fibroids or something else…hard to tell. Either way, I decided to try and see if I had any options other than taking the pill, so I tried nattokinase, Serrepeptase, and DIM. I had some occasional mild cramping during the time I took this, but I’ve read that’s not uncommon. It’s been a month and my cycle is up to 27 days, no more pain so far, plus I don’t feel heavy and bloated like I usually do – neither do I feel the exhaustion and irritation that I usually feel, and I’ve had virtually no breakouts! I’ll update if this continues, but so far this has saved my life.
