   increasing dopamine production was something i wanted to do, living a sedentary life after being used to very exciting activities and a former smoker left me low on dopamine, hoping the quality of the ingredients in this product gives me the edge I need

   I take 1 in the morning and again in the afternoon. Working in a very stressful job, it gives me the ability to get up and go that I need to get through the day, every day. I recommand it.

   I was looking for a natural way to boost my energy levels and I’m glad I found this supplement! It’s plant-based and non-GMO, so I feel good about taking it. The 500mg dose is exactly what I need, and the vegetarian capsules are easy to take, they provide me with the phenylalanine I need to support my diet. The quality is good, but the price is rather high.

   I bought these to take with 5-HTP, they complement each other. I found the quality of this Now product to be high just like other products I have purchased from them. I think having taken 5-HTP alone before, adding these has improved the benefits for my mood. The price was also very good and the delivery was punctual and clear to understand. I haven’t noticed any side effects, but of course I appreciate that some people may feel ‘turned on’ by them. The package is easy to open and use.

   I can honestly say this product is a life saver for me and my family. I would be a totally angry and not at all nice person without this amino acid. I’ve tried different brands to see how they work or if I’ve traveled and missed it, but I always come back to this one, it seems to suit my body.

   L-Phenylalanine is a great benefit for your nervous system. The composition of the capsules is made with quality ingredients. So the capsule size is easy to swallow and tasteless. L-Phenylalanine may benefit weight, mood, energy, and skin. It’s great to add to your diet between meals.

   There are 2 types of phenylalanine, the L form and the DL form. DL Phenylalanine is known as DLPA. It acts as a mild sedative and natural opioid pain reliever by binding to the same receptors that pharmaceutical opioids (oramorph, etc.) bind to. If you take L Phenylalanine at night, it will keep you up all night, so don’t confuse the 2 forms! LPA is stimulating, DLPA is sedative and analgesic. I either take 500mg or 1g, depending on how tired I am and what I need to do that day. It benefits me.

    I’ve noticed anecdotal evidence that a lot of men tend to say they prefer tyrosine over phenylalanine. I don’t know if it’s a difference between male and female chemistry, but I (being female) get significantly better benefit from Phenylalanine. I’ve kept both on hand for many years and have tried using tyrosine several times (since it’s “supposed” to be more effective at increasing dopamine), but it just didn’t work. not the same effect for me as phenylalanine. I have used Phenylalanine to stabilize mood and reduce dopamine, it is probably the most effective supplement I have ever used for this purpose. It was a huge help in overcoming postpartum depression (nothing else worked – even encapsulated placenta didn’t work) with my youngest child and since then I’ve been using it at different times in my cycle. The tyrosine never really made me hungry and made my skin oily, but the phenylalanine actually helps my mood and motivation. I think since Phenylalanine is the first in a long chain of chemical reactions that’s why it benefits me the most, it gives me everything I need along the way versus the path shorter than tyrosine. That’s my theory anyway, but I’m no expert. It’s the only brand I’ve ever used for Phenylalanine and I get great results, so I think it’s good quality.
