Smell, like taste, is a subjective thing. In fact, personally, I’m more than ok with this scent. It’s hard to describe…let me try. Contrary to the simple smell of the standards, for example lavender or mint, patchouli has a unique (yes, unique only for Pat) soothing and relaxing (yes, for me!) smell. And it tends to linger too. So this is it. I have no concerns about NOW food essential oils despite its lower price. 🙂

When I opened the original packaging, I could clearly smell the oils. At first I thought maybe one of them had opened. But I was relieved to find that none of them were broken. Good patchouli scent and can only get better with age. Perfect for mixing and blending with other carrier oils for the diffuser or as a topical oil when mixed with the carrier oil of your choice. Purifies the air and can even be used as a moth repellent. A few drops will leave a lingering scent. Wish there was a bigger bottle!
