What is Doctor’s Best Benfotiamine?
Benfotiamine (S-benzoylthiamine-O-monophosphate) is a synthetic derivative of thiamin (Vitamin B1) belonging to the family of compounds known as allithiamines. Benfotiamine is fat-soluble and more bioavailable and physiologically active than thiamin. Benfotiamine helps maintain healthy cells in the presence of blood glucose, provides support against oxidative stress, and supports healthy aging.
How does it work?
Benfotiamine raises the blood level of thiamin pyrophosphate (TPP), the biologically active coenzyme of thiamin, and stimulates transketolase, a cellular enzyme essential for maintenance of normal glucose metabolic pathways. Benfotiamine can greatly improve thiamin status, especially in comparison with regular forms of thiamin. In a randomized, double-blind crossover trial comparing bioavailability of benfotiamine to that of thiamin mononitrate (the most common supplemental form of vitamin B1) in 12 individuals, benfotiamine caused an average 5-fold greater increase in blood thiamin levels than thiamin mononitrate, with a concomitant greater thiamin concentration in red blood cells. Benfotiamine is converted to S-benzoylthiamin (through removal of the O-monophosphate by the digestive tract), which readily passes through intestinal cells and is converted into thiamin.

if you wake up tired and anxious like me and have no energy, consider supplementing with B1. I tried the 150 mg and this one. It’s strong. So if you want to go down, try the lower dose. The quality is good and I have read that it helps the pituitary gland. You will immediately feel the benefits if you have a low B1. But also test before. I have Hashimoto and I’m quite anxious and tired, especially when I’m in crisis.

Quality: I trust the quality of Doctor’s Best supplements. Ingredient: Benfotiamine. It’s the other version of thiamin (vitamin B1) that dissolves in fat, so the body can store it and use it longer. Capsule size: normal, easy to swallow Packaging: 60 day supply only. I hope a bigger package will be available. I take it for eye and nerve protection, Alzheimer’s protection, cognitive enhancement and mental health. I will come back later to report on the result of taking Doctor’s Best Benfotiamine.

I have been very pleased with this B supplement. My doctor specifically recommended benfotiamine because it is easier for people with the MTHFR gene mutation to absorb than other types of B vitamins. The capsule size is excellent and they are easy to swallow. Seems to be of high quality. I really recommend!

My friend had a lot of discomfort, especially at night while sleeping with nervous disorders (tingling, numbness).
