A great overnight thickening dietary supplement for baking, meatballs and more. So, flours that are suitable for Quito like almond flour have thickening properties like gluten-free Kasur flour in Quito. I add to coconut/almond flour in cakes and cookies, and even just for batter in meats and cookies, patties, etc. come out thick and round. I will attach a photo of guar gum cookies. I will be ordering more and more.. but be careful you only need a small amount each time, otherwise it will hurt your stomach

use it a lot less than I thought I would. Like 0 times in the last year since I bought it . Also be very careful when using it as some people have choked on the powder. It can expand in water, so I would only save it for cooking.

Guar gum is a healthy source of soluble fiber – and it has so many uses! It can be used as a thickener in smoothies, gravies, soups and stews. It can be used to keep standard baked products from crumbling up. It can be used instead of xanthan gum in gluten-free baking – yeasted breads, quick breads, cakes, cookies – to allow the baked goods to rise (Note here – for some recipes, you just might need to adjust the amount, although I have found just substituting works for me.) Now Foods Real Guar Gum comes in a convenient resealable container – it stays fresh without refrigeration, and the quality is excellent.

Easy to dissolve, looks like it takes a while to thicken liquids. It works great with ice cream, making it harder to melt and creamier without using fat. Seems to be of good quality, size is appropriate for home use. Looks like it doesn’t add flavor to the food.

I haven’t been able to give it a thorough test yet, but in my foray into gluten-free baking, this should come in very handy. It mimics gluten in recipes, and since you only use a small amount, that big packet should last a long time – wonderful!

I am so glad I bought this! Being gluten free, it’s difficult to thicken gravy, and this works so easily! You sprinkle a tiny amount in, and stir. No cooking needed.

Also, keep in mind that you don’t need a lot. My recipe was for about 1 1/2 cups of liquid and it only needed half a teaspoon to get thick. I’m sure this bottle will last me a long time. I also used it recently to thicken a glaze for salmon, so it’s a good cornstarch substitute. I am very happy!

It helps me control my appetite. I have a problem when I start eating I can’t stop because I don’t feel full. But after taking half a teaspoon of guar gum daily for about a week, I feel like I feel full faster than usual Make sure you add the gum with another powder that tastes good (of course a healthy edible/drinkable powder) and add water stirring quickly so as not to make lumps

Good thickener! I use guar gum and xanthan gum to stabilize my whipped aquafaba, and it holds up well and mimics the texture of whipped egg whites perfectly! Now I can make meringue which is allergy free 🙂 The only thing I would complain about is that the package size is easily used. I would gladly buy a bigger package! I like this Guar Gum. It works well thickening soups. I even put it into my protein shake when I don’t have any fruit available.
