Melatonin: The supplement for better sleep

   It is during sleep that the organism carries out the main restorative functions of the body, such as tissue repair, muscle growth and protein synthesis. During this time, it is possible to restore energy and regulate the metabolism, essential factors to keep body and mind healthy. Sleeping well is, therefore, a habit that should be included in everyone’s routine.

   However, there are many reasons why you don’t have a good night’s sleep, such as sleep disorders, health problems, bad habits, worries, too many artificial lights, etc. To reduce the chances of developing insomnia or sleep disorders it is possible to adopt some healthy habits in your daily routine, such as keeping the room dark and quiet, avoiding addictions, such as smoking and alcohol, avoiding stimulating foods before going to bed, such as coffee, cinnamon and peppers, and, mainly, taking supplements which help you sleep, such as MELATONIN.

   Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally by the organism (in the pineal gland of the brain), which main function is to regulate the circadian cycle, stimulating sleep at the end of the day. In addition, melatonin also promotes the proper functioning of the body and acts as an antioxidant. However, melatonin production decreases with aging, which is why sleep disorders are more frequent in adults and the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to replace this hormone by supplementation.

   Melatonin supplementation can be done in different ways such as capsules, drops or gummys and the benefits of supplementation are numerous:

– helps in relaxation and sleep predisposition;
– assists in balancing the circadian cycle
– assists in decreasing stomach acidity
– promotes mood improvement.
